At The North School we aim to maximise the potential and future life chances of all our students and have extremely high expectations both inside and outside the classroom.  We have an ethos centred around our belief that students should be able to learn in a well ordered and engaging environment and that they should attempt all their work to the very best of their ability.

The North School is a popular secondary school which is oversubscribed in Key Stage 3 and 4. Our committed and collegiate team of staff welcome and support all new members of the school community, whether students, parents or staff. They promote our school values across all aspects of school life and actively seek opportunities to engage students with their learning and development. The North School team upholds the high expectations and are supported by our highly visible SLT. 

We firmly believe that every child deserves access to the highest standards of teaching and learning and expect our staff to engage with research and CPD opportunities to continually refine their practice. Our teams work collaboratively to plan the curriculum and are the experts delivering their subject through the broad and balanced curriculum, from Year 7 through to Sixth Form. 

We are very proud of our collaboration with the Swale Academies Trust and together with the Trust we work relentlessly to continually improve the school experience for all our students. In addition, there are opportunities for career development and leadership roles throughout the schools based within Swale Academies Trust.  More information about the Trust can be found on their website at www.swaleacademiestrust.org.uk.

The North School is a mixed high school which currently has approximately 1280 students on roll from years 7 to 14. The North School has lots of bright, modern and well equipped classrooms and also boasts the oldest school farm in Kent which is well stocked with all types of animals, and has a very successful Young Farmers Club. We offer students a wide range of opportunities to learn outside of the classroom, the basketball and tennis academies being particularly popular and successful.

The town of Ashford itself offers superb transport links to London and Europe and easy access to the Kent coast. Ashford has grown in its popularity over the years as a destination for those to live and work. Originally a historic market town, it has recently seen a surge in development with plenty of housing. The town also offers many leisure facilities, including the Mcarthur Glen Designer Outlet, a leisure centre, two cinemas, plenty of gyms and many varied and interesting restaurants both in the town and surrounding areas.
