PARENT LEARNING WALKS

We recognise that a good working relationship with home and families is essential to ensuring the best progress for your child throughout their schooling. Your views as parents and carers really matter to us and we recognise that your active participation in school life is crucial. A Parent Learning Walk is one of the communication tools that we are using to share and discuss the School’s priorities and developments.

WHAT IS A PARENT LEARNING WALK?

A Parent Learning Walk takes place throughout the school year during the school day. Parents/carers will be invited to walk the school with a senior member of the school team and observe lessons taking place. This will be followed by refreshments, during which time you will have the opportunity to talk to senior leaders and year group staff.

Each learning walk will focus on a particular year group, providing a taste of the ‘daily learning diet’ of a student. It will provide you with the opportunity to find out more about the school, the teaching and learning, discuss your ideas, concerns and suggestions in an informal environment and plays an important role in the strategic development of the school.

The programme of learning walks will include every year group throughout the course of the academic year and can address aspects of the school which are important to you.

For any queries regarding the Parent Learning Walk programme, please contact tns-office@swale.at or telephone the school on the usual telephone number.
