Making Your Application
Applications can be made via Kent Choices progress using the following link:
Entry Requirements:
As a basic entry requirement to join our Sixth Form for Level 3 courses, you must have achieved at least 5 GCSE subjects at Grade 5 or above including:
- at least a Grade 5 in English
- at least a Grade 5 in Mathematics
- the specific entry requirements for each of your subjects
Applicants may choose three or four subjects to study at A Level. Choosing to study the Extended Project Qualification will be an additional course choice. Your study programme will also include timetabled supplementary study sessions and you will be expected to be involved in a co-curricular activity such as a volunteering or a work experience placement.
All A Level courses are linear with examinations at the end of the two year course.
PLEASE SEE OUR LEVEL 3 COURSE BOOKLET FOR FURTHER DETAILS
If, however, there are insufficient numbers, a course may not run.
For students not meeting entry requirements for Level 3 courses, there are alternative Level 2 pathways which include a combination of qualifications alongside English and Mathematics to lead to the equivalent of five GCSEs at a pass level by the end of a single year.
PLEASE SEE OUR LEVEL 2 COURSE BOOKLET FOR FURTHER DETAILS
If, however, there are insufficient numbers, a course may not run.
Application Process:
On receiving your application via the link above, we will confirm you are on track to meet the entry requirements and request references where necessary. You will then be invited for a consultation meeting with a senior teacher in January/February. The purpose of the meeting is simply to allow us to get to know you and to talk to you about your aspirations; it is not a factor in deciding whether or not to offer you a place, which is done purely on academic criteria. It is important that students regularly check their Kent Choices progress status and track their applications to avoid missing important messages and invitations to consultations.
Remember that the Sixth Form team are available at all times to answer queries about your application.
We have a transition programme in the Summer term where you will meet your teachers and receive some summer tasks to complete in preparation for your courses.
