Transition
FAMILY TRANSITION MEETINGS
Year 6 students and their parents will be invited to attend a compulsory meeting with a senior member of the North School staff. This will allow us to get to know you and your child in addition to discussing the home school agreement and other key information.

Students Joining Year 7 in September 2026
For admissions into next year’s Year 7, parents and carers are required to complete an application form known as the “Common Application Form” (CAF) through Kent County Council. This can be found by clicking here for the Kent County Council 'Applying for a School' web page.
Year 7 applications for September 2026 entry are normally for children born between 1 September 2014 and 31 August 2015.
Applications for transfer to secondary school for September 2026 opened on Monday 1 September and will close on Friday 31 October 2025.
The North School has a published admission number (PAN) of 215 students, to be admitted into Year 7 each year. Applications for places will be made in accordance with Kent local authority’s coordinated admission arrangements and will be made on the Secondary Common Application Form (SCAF), provided and administered by the Kent Local Authority.

Thursday 23 April 2026 |
Offer day for the second round of applications (known as reallocation). After this date waiting lists will be maintained by the schools and they will send out offers for places that may become available. Parents that have received an offer of a school place from KCC can approach schools directly for alternative places. |

Appeals
If you wish to appeal against a decision to refuse a place for your child at this school you can apply online or in writing. Please ensure that you read the guidance notes published online before submitting your appeal. Please note that as The North School is part of the Swale Academies Trust, appeal forms must be submitted to the school. The North School uses an externally appointed Independent Appeals Panel.
